In August 2015 we published a blog , "Cleaners Are Breaking The Law by Servicing Any Waterless Urinal" to answer questions continually asked of us by cleaners and cleaning contractors. Here we are in September 2021 and there are still the same issues with building owners & managers forcing cleaners to break the law. There has always been a tendency by commercial building owners and their property managers to demand that cleaning contractors undertake work tasks that are legally required to be undertaken by licensed plumbers. Cleaners undertaking plumbing tasks such as urinal servicing are breaking several laws as are their employers and supervisors.
Urinals that stink are poorly maintained. Urinals that stink are too often accepted by commercial building managers. Reality is urinals that stink are not acceptable. Almost all urinals that stink are usually simple to rectify with basic maintenance and servicing. The first steps in solving that infamous male public bathroom malodour stink is to pinpoint the source of the stink.
